Lip enhancement is now the second most popular aesthetic procedure in the US. It’s non-surgical, quick, easy and has lasting results. If you want more volume, read on…
Our patients tell us, this is what they want when seeking lip filler…
“Keep the look natural. Nothing overdone, please!”
“Make sure my lips are still in balance with my face.”
You can’t pick up a woman’s magazine or visit a beauty website without reading about lip fillers. What’s interesting is that lip fillers are no longer just about anti-aging and plumping up lips that have lost their volume or have become wrinkled. Lip shape and fullness is a concern for women of all ages. As the premier medical aesthetic skin treatment and wellness practice in the North Sound, our office is in the top 1% in the country based on the amount of filler and Botox® we perform each year. So, as qualified experts in our field we’ve put together important advice for you to consider prior to your treatment:
REJUVENATIONMD’S 4 RULES of LIP ENHANCEMENT
2. Go to a practice that has a variety of lip fillers to choose from. Like everything in life, one-size doesn’t fit all. Depending on your age, goals, gender, quality of your skin and other factors, having more than one filler option is essential. That’s why we offer a variety of fillers, and we’ll recommend the best option for your body and goals.
3. Start slow. You can always add more. Ask a friend or relative for a referral, understanding that the most important aspect of this procedure is attention to detail. Rushing through a lip filler procedure is a real no-no. It takes time, attention and focus to achieve optimal results. If it’s your first time getting filler, it’s a great idea to start small and see how your body responds after the swelling goes down. At RejuvenationMD, we never rush any treatment. As we say, time is the secret ingredient.
4. Be Realistic. One syringe of filler is equivalent to 1/5 of a teaspoon, so our experts will always recommend the best dosage for your goals.
Be aware of the infamous “lip filler cycle”: Immediately after your treatment, you’ll love the results. But over the next 2 days, it’s common for your lips to swell. On day 3 or 4, if you bruise, you may notice a little bruising. We’ll give you some arnica if you bruise so let us know in advance of your treatment. The swelling will recede around the 5th day, and true to the cycle, people LOVE their results, but 3 weeks later they call wanting more filler!
Once you experience this cycle, you’ll have a much better understanding of your lip filler goals. Every body responds differently. The duration of your filler is directly affected by the dose you receive and how your body processes filler (hyaluronic acid filler for example). We’ll go over everything you need to know during your complimentary consultation.
At RejuvenationMD, we pride ourselves in balancing form and function…beauty and comfort. In honor of Valentine’s Day, here’s a question we get asked often:
“Can I kiss right after my lip filler?”
Unfortunately, the answer is no. Avoid kissing for up to 24 hours. So, if you have a hot date, schedule your treatment ahead of time.
